Reflection on Ict as a situating tools

Ict as a situating tools helps to situate learners in an environment to experience the context and happening. After I have attended ict class i learnt a lot about  different types of situating tools.
Firstly i got opportunity to explore more on how to make google classroom and it was worth studying. I have learnt that in order to create google classroom we need to log in our email account. I gain a idea of making announcement, uploading videos, sharing links and assigning task to the students.Through this, students and teacher can interact with each other. Student can get  access to the announcement and notes provided by teachers. For teacher, it provides features to upload announcement, quiz, assignment, share links and upload video. To get more explore on google classroom, we were ask to











Moreover, I got chance to explore more on GraphCalc. As a classwork we were asked to plot graph using linear equation.









I also got an opportunity to explore on google map as it is one of the situating tools. I have learnt that google map is a web based service that provides detailed information about graphical regions and sites around the world. Through this we can calculate the distance, time and areas of a particular locations. As a teacher I would love to use those tools in the class .

Reflection on Video Tutorial (Camtasia ) as an informative tool


Using camtasia for video lesson

Camtasia is the best all-in-one screen recorder and video editor. We can record your screen, add video effects, transitions and more. It can be used in making educational presentations and YouTube videos. As a major assignment we were asked to construct a video tutorial using camtasia.
Our ICT tutor has assigned each topic for individual. For me, I made a video tutorial for  class 4 Social studies on topic" A sketch of market area". Firstly I read the topic thoroughly and worked on lesson plan.  Then I worked on  preparing Power point presentation and kept ready to make video.
  
Then,I try to download camtasia 6 from the link given in VLE but unfortunately my Laptop didn't support that software. Then, I asked other section for help and i downloaded camtasia 8 from their vle where there was a like shared by their tutor. I tried to record but i failed. It was not an easy job to create video using camtasia. So, I have watched many videos from the YouTube as well as video which was uploaded in the vle.  In order explore and to have enough knowledge i asked help from our classmates. I tried many times recording, importing, editing and finally i could able to do that.

This video tutorial will serve as an informative tool for the learners because students can watch this video and get  better understanding on how to sketch a market area.  Lerner's tend to learn better when the lesson is in the form of text, sounds, an pictures. So, In my video tutorial I have used some animation, graphics, sounds and images. This video was uploaded in face book as face book is also one of the informative tool.

Google docs as a co-constructive tools

Review on google docs

Google docs is a free Web-based application in which documents can be created, edited and stored online. It is one of the examples of co- constructive tools.  It is a very powerful real-time collaboration and document authoring tool. After attended ict class on co- constructive tool,  I feel google docs is effective and interesting to use. I have leaned that no special software is required to use this tool. We can create and edit text documents right in our web browse. We can invite any one from the email. I also learned that the multiple people can work at the same time, we can see people's changes as they make them, and every change is saved automatically.


To familiar with the google docs, we were given an assignment where we need to work on ICT integrated lesson plan. So we were grouped into three members to work on. We started discussing in comment section about what topic and  the subject we are going to choose. By doing this, we get to share our ideas and exchange our views with friends.  
Google docs provide equal opportunity for all the group members to come up with good work. We can able to know who is active member and inactive members. As a teacher i will make use of google docs to assign work as it brings ideas together.

ICT as a co_ constructive tools

My understanding on ICT as a co- constructive tools

co- constructive tool is an concept that students can use to help them learn from others and expand their knowledge. Student cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of new knowledge. On ways of co-constructive is the use of the electronic whiteboard where students may post notices to a shared document/whiteboard. Students may also co-edit the same document from their homes.
We can integrate this tool in the future in our school by making online discussion among teachers and between teacher and students. 


I was familiar with some of the co- constructive tools such as We-chat, face book, google docs and vle
(virtual learning environment).  With the out break of Covid-19 in our country, i got opportunity to use these tools and it provide me with lots of knowledge. It help me with the opportunity to share my doubts and learn together with friends and module tutors


 

For teacher to teacher, we can use the online template like (Google docs) to discuss on the school development programs, to discuss about the issues about the school and students simply from our home instead of spending huge time sitting in the conferencing hall. For teacher and students, we can discuss about the information about a concept if it is unclear in the class through online discussion.

It is very important to use this tools in the school because it creates conducive learning and it also help students to construct a new knowledge over a existing knowledge. When there is conducive learning than students will naturally bring a positive learning outcomes.

ICT as a constructive tools

My understanding on ICT as a constructive tools

Constructive tools are general purpose tools that can be used for manipulating information, construct their own knowledge or visualize students understanding. Learners  are considered to be active organisms seeking meaning. The constructive approach believed that learners need to construct their own understanding. All knowledge is personal and exists in mind. After I went through this power point presentation, I came to know that this approach helps learners to learn in absence of teacher and participate actively in learning. Following are some of the examples of constructive tools.
1. Concept map
2. Desktop publishing program
3. Word, spread sheet, and power point.
4. Simulation 

As part of our activity to understand how constructive tools can be used, we have designed advertisement simulation using PowerPoint presentation program. It was very challenging for me to make simulation.  I tried to make by using my  prior knowledge but i failed.  So,I asked help from our class mates and watched video tutorials on how to make simulation from YouTube. Through this activity, I came to know that we can advertise about the special events in our locality in one slide. Here, Simulation is used  to assess the current, predict the future performance of business process. It was designed to help business owners and practitioners to discover new ways to improve their business process.

My understanding on ICT as a communicative tool

ICT is used as a tool for communication, which provide an opportunity for the teachers and learners to interact without having to meet face to face. Communicative tools is an application which enable easy communication between the teachers and the students. It consists of software and hardware tools to make communication faster, easier and more reliable. We are using communication tools such as emails, messengers, WeChat, zoom, Facebook, computer, video and etc. inorder to spread knowledge and information. In our country all the teachers and students are using communicative tools to share their knowledge and information. It was increased because of the out break of global pandemic covid-19. I feel more comfortable using WeChat, Gmail and Virtual Learning  Environment (VLE) as a means of teaching and learning. 

Two types of communicative tools:

1) Synchronous

It is a real time communication between two people. It includes messaging, video conferencing, telephone call and email etc. It is mainly used for instructional activities that require higher degree of interaction. We are using this type of communicative tool to help in solving urgent problems and issues. This type of communicative tools is difficult to use as we cannot make quick comments and because of many discussion it lose focus. 

2) Asynchronous



This type of communication happens at different time and at different place. Here learners are free to complete the task at their own pace. This communicative tools are appropriate for the activities that require more time in thinking before responding. It includes e-mail, vle discussion, WeChat, blog, and etc.

My understanding on ICT as informative tools

ICT consists of various tools and system that can be exploited by capable and creative teachers to improve teaching and learning situation. ICT can be used as five different tools in the classroom. They are
1. An informative  tool
2. A communicative tool
3. A constructive tool
4. A co -constructive tool
5. A situating tool

Informative tools are application that provide large amount of information in various formate such as text, graphics, sounds or videos. We can integrate ICT tools in teaching and learning through the use of texts, images, sounds, graphics, and videos for functioning the lesson week and for better learning. Students reading a text, listening to audio on the particular topic, looking at an image, watching a video lesson are all receiving information on particular topic through different means based on their choice.

The integration of informative tool in teaching and learning provides students to explore hands in experience, connecting to the real life situation and relating to the environment. This tool help learners to learn independently. When we use computer as an informative tools, it expend our knowledge and skills .

We  were asked to prepare presentation about who is morally right in Doklam issue to understand how informative tools can be used. In order to prepare the presentation i have used different sources. I have read different articles to find out the information.
